Summertime news, 2003

C'mon ev'rybody!
There IS a cure for the summertime blues.
See you on the tour. You will be there.

Zoot.

Thursday, 17th July 2003.

Hello folks: - OK, so a year's gone by and some things change. The collection of singles has finally been released after so many people asked. It's available on Repertoire Records:

REP 4796

Zoot Money's Big Roll Band
"As & Bs SCRAP BOOK"

Surprise Parties at the Bull remain almost the same: i.e different each month! The current Roll Band "squad" comprises:
Bass- Paul McCallum; Mike Stock; Phil Mulford.
Drums- Martin Wild; Jeff Allen; Steve Laffy.
Sax- Gary Foote; Mornington Lockett and most recently Pat Crumly.
Guitar- Ronnie Johnson (I accept NO substitute...although Bobby Tench helps from time to time).

Of course for the 'Legless' tour [see gigs page] the venerable Colin Allen (lyricist of many tunes, including "It Never Rains but It Pours and Ain't Nothin Shakin' But the Bacon") will, as he did at Christmas, be drumming for the Big Roll Band as he did so many times 'back in the day'. Gary Foote (saxes/flute), Ronnie Johnson (guitar/good humour) and Colin Hodgkinson (bass/vocals) will complete the Legends line up, ALL to accompany guests Paul Williams, Ray Dorset (with whom I used to share many a college circuit and laughs 'back then') and Long John Baldry.

Although it's bin 10 or so years since I've seen Long John I can't wait to catch up. He recorded "Don't It Make You feel Good to be Alive" in the 70's AND named the album after the track...thanks again Balders!

AS more frequent news updates are I know required for the site, when the new look is completed [getting there - Ed] I will be doing a regular newsletter despite juggling gigs and a LIFE.....I promise.

Meanwhile, Big Rollers, I expect you to bother your friends AND enemies and fill up these seats on the only tour with more talent than hits, more years than sense and more guts than glamour. BE THERE!

Zoot.
